OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla Autopilot lead Andrej Karpathy has joined Anthropic to lead a new team focused on using Claude to accelerate pre-training research under team lead Nick Joseph.
A huge coup for Anthropic. Karpathy left Eureka Labs (his AI education startup) saying "the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative." Signals growing confidence in Anthropic's trajectory.
